About Dr. Patel
Dr Rikesh Patel is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician providing NHS services at Manchester Royal Infirmary and is the joint Clinical Lead for Rheumatology at the renowned Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology in Manchester
He also consults privately at OrthTeam Spire Manchester, offering comprehensive assessment, investigation and management expertise for the full spectrum of inflammatory and non-inflammatory rheumatic disease.
Dr Patel co-leads the North West regional Giant Cell Arteritis MDT. His subspecialty interests include large vessel vasculitis, in particular Takayasu Disease and Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA), polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and connective tissue disease. He thrives in settings of diagnostic complexity, especially when evaluating rare or atypical disease patterns.
Dr Patel graduated from the University of Leicester with a distinction and holds dual UK CCTs in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine.
